June 5, 2010 8 AM to 4 PM Field trip to CCC Quarry & Prospect, Haddam. June 14, 2010 7:30 PM LMSCC Meeting Appraisal Night. Local dealer and mineral/gem aficionado Bob Beckert will provide free appraisals of 3 mineral specimens per member. We'll also have some hands-on demos on rock breaking tools and techniques. July 10, 2010 10 AM-2 PM Tour of the Mine Hill, Roxbury iron mine and furnace. Meet at the DOT Park & Ride lot in Southbury off I-84 exit 14 and car pool the 20-minute or so drive to the preserve. August 8, 2010 SUNDAY, 12-4 PM, 6TH ANNUAL ROCKHOUND FEST See the June Chip n Pick for details. September 25, 2010 8 AM to 4 PM Field trip to Case Quarries, Portland
Fall-Winter 2010/Spring 2011 Meeting schedule, specific dates to be determined in early September. September 2010 Brag night. Club will have microscope, lamps for fluorescent minerals and trimmer available to use. October 2010 Speaker to be determined November 2010 Fall Auction December 2010 Holiday Social & Teacup Auction January 2011 Lapidary Teaching Night. Plan to have several machines members can learn on and the McDonalds teaching wire wrapping. Plus videos.
