The Meriden and Bristol mineral clubs jointly maintain a lapidary center for club members. After receiving basic safety training at the center, you can use its facilities to:

  • open geodes or cut rock slabs using our trim saws
  • polish cabachons for jewelry from your rock slabs
  • make carvings using our flexible shaft drill

(Please note that the lapidary center is a learning center for non-commercial use.)

The lapidary center is scheduled to be open from
10 am to 2 pm on the days in GREEN.

You must sign up at least TWO DAYS in advance to use the lap center. You can sign up by clicking on any future day in GREEN (i.e. you cannot sign up today to use the lap center today).

If you are already signed up,
the lap center is open today from 10 - 2.
